JDS Recruitment urgently need a Learning Support Assistant (specialising in either Animation, Games Design, Music, Music Production, Media OR Art & Design) to start part-time (2-3 days a week) at a vocational training and apprenticeship provision for 14-19 years olds in Waltham Forest.
Key Areas of specialism to support:
- Games design
- Animation
- Media
- Art & Design
- Music OR Music Production
Ideally hold a degree in any of the above subject areas (Desirable). Strong level of Maths & English required for this role.
Location: Walthamstow (E17)
Start Date: Tuesday 29th September 26 (2-3 days a week)
Salary Range: £16.67ph
Hours: 14-21 hours a week (term time only)
This provision supports learners who have a key interest within the creative industries, namely Gaming, Music, Drama and Media. The learners have a variety of needs including social emotional and mental health difficulties, autism, comprehension delay, challenging behaviour, dyslexia, and additional learning difficulties.
This role will be on a part-time basis and will commence immediately (during term time only!). The hours are either 9am – 4pm or 9am – 5pm (Timetabled).
To be considered for this role you will need to have Maths and English at GCSE grade C and above or be educated to degree level or have extensive experience supporting SEND students.

- Have a personality!
- Be confident with a strong background or have a key interest in the creative industries, ideally within Animation.
- Have an interest in the creative industries such as drama, fashion, music, Animation, gaming, music production etc.
- Have excellent timekeeping.
- Able to use own initiative.
- Able to commit and be reliable 2-3 days a week with 100% attendance.
- Able to work 9am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm.
- Great interest in making a difference.
- Act as a great role model for the learners.
- Passion for supporting children with SEND including SEMH and Dyslexia.
This role will be to start immediately subject to clear enhanced DBS and referencing checks.
