JDR Recruitment are recruiting for an Installation Technician on behalf of our client.

Location: Wrexham, with UK and Ireland based travel to customer sites

Salary: £31,500-£36,000 depending on experience

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-5:00pm (flexibility required depending on customer requirements)

Contract Type: Permanent

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an Installation Technician to join a growing service team responsible for the installation, upgrade, and repair of specialist equipment and structures. This is a field-based role involving travel to customer sites throughout the UK, with occasional international travel and overnight stays where required. As an Installation Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out new installations, refurbishment projects, and repairs to ensure equipment remains safe, functional, and visually appealing. You will diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and structural issues, carrying out repairs to frames, padding, netting, and associated components to ensure customer sites remain fully operational. The role will involve travelling to customer locations to carry out installations, upgrades, and urgent repairs. You will ensure all work is completed in accordance with UK and international safety standards, maintaining accurate records of work completed and replacement parts used. You will also work closely with colleagues and third-party suppliers to coordinate projects, source components, and support continuous improvements to equipment and installation processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on role and is comfortable working independently while delivering a high standard of service to customers across multiple locations.

Experience / Skills Required

  • Previous experience within an installation, service, or maintenance role is essential
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and structural skills
  • Experience within the leisure, amusement, or children's play industry is advantageous
  • Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to complete documentation accurately
  • Experience liaising with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Comfortable working at height, lifting equipment, and working within confined or awkward spaces
  • Relevant electrical, mechanical, or health and safety qualifications are advantageous
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience is required for this role
