About the Role
JDR Recruitment are working in partnership with one of there well-established clients based in Worksop.
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Storeman / Yard Operative to join our clients busy team.
This hands-on role combines warehouse operations, yard duties, stock control, forklift driving, and customer service.
The successful candidate must have previous experience working with plumbing products and materials, enabling them to accurately identify stock, assist customers, and support the day-to-day running of the stores and yard.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, check, unload, and store incoming deliveries.
- Organise and maintain stock within the warehouse and yard.
- Pick and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely.
- Load and unload customer and supplier vehicles. Monitor stock levels and assist with stock control procedures.
- Place supplier orders and manage incoming deliveries.
- Assist trade customers with collections and product enquiries.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Ensure plumbing materials and fittings are readily available to meet customer demand.
- Comply with all health and safety procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working within a plumbing merchant, plumbing supplies business, trade counter, or similar environment.
- Good knowledge of plumbing products, fittings, pipework, valves, and associated materials.
- Experience working in a warehouse, stores, or yard role.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to carry out manual handling tasks.
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work as part of a team.
- Counter balance license
