JDR Recruitment are recruiting for a Maintenance Technician on behalf of our client.

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:30pm, Friday 7:30am to 3:30pm (38 hours per week)

Contract Type: Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a busy manufacturing site based in Widnes. This is a hands-on, site-based role focused on maintaining the safe and reliable operation of CNC machinery, production equipment, utilities, and site facilities.

The role will involve responding to machine breakdowns across the engineering workshop, carrying out fault-finding activities, and minimising downtime to support efficient production operations. You will be responsible for planned, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities, including TPM, ensuring all maintenance work is accurately recorded and completed to a high standard.

Duties will include both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs, including work on pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems. You will also carry out electrical installation and repair work in line with BS 7671 regulations, supporting machinery modifications and installation projects where required.

Additional responsibilities will include maintaining workshop equipment, site utilities, and facilities, liaising with contractors and suppliers, and supporting compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards. The role will also involve TIG welding and light fabrication work to support production requirements when necessary.

You will work closely with production and EHS teams to maintain high standards of safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement across the site.

Qualifications:

  • Recognised Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance
  • Experience working with CNC machinery such as Mazak, Hardinge, or DMG is desirable
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
  • Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance activities
  • TIG welding and light fabrication experience is preferred
