Job Overview
We are seeking a Spray Painter to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing and applying paints and ensuring high-quality finishes on various train wheelsets.
This role requires precision, attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming as required.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or specifications to determine painting requirements.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality, ensuring uniform coverage and correct colour and finish.
- Maintain and clean spray guns/pumps, paint booths, and related equipment.
- Follow safety protocols for handling paints, solvents, and chemicals.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Perform touch-ups or repairs on painted surfaces when necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- Knowledge of paint types, mixing ratios and surface preparation techniques.
- Ability to operate spray painting equipment and follow technical instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Familiarity with workplace safety standards and PPE use.
- Good manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
