Salary: £25,194 - £26,325 depending on experience

Location: Taunton, Somerset, must drive due to being on the outskirts with no public transport to get to site.

Shift: Monday - Friday 9am-5pm

JDR is recruiting for a Warehouse Operations Supervisor to work in a warehouse on the outskirts of Taunton, Somerset.

Key Expectations

  • Help build and develop the team and processes to drive maximum productivity and efficiency
  • Lead projects to build ongoing operational improvements
  • Be a champion of Health and Food Safety daily
  • Support and assist the warehouse manager becoming fully aware of how the operation works end to end process, so able to take the lead in their absence

Key Responsibilities

  • Staff Supervision: Lead, motivate and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff to ensure tasks are completed accurately and effectively.
  • Picking Orders: Picking customer orders using a HHT device accurately onto a pallet ready for dispatch.
  • Goods In: Receiving deliveries & recording on a shared document. Booking this stock onto our ERP logging important information such as BBE & Batch Codes.
  • Packing Orders: Prepare the orders for dispatch. This is either safely stacked on a pallet or wrapped well into boxes for courier deliveries.
  • Wrapping Pallets: Securely wrap the pallets with shrink wrap, ensure the whole pallet is covered, tight & safe for transit.
  • Daily Running of the Warehouse: In the absence of the Warehouse Manager, the Senior Operative will perform the following tasks: Allocating orders, prioritising stock to be booked in, checking of orders, dispatching orders.
  • Loading/Unloading of pallets from delivery vehicles: Using the forklift, you will unload deliveries throughout the day & assist in loading the lorry with outbound deliveries.
  • Managing and reviewing delivery despatch method - ensuring that we ship on the most competitive option while providing the highest service will be a key metric for you.
  • Delivery Driving: In the absence of our regular delivery driver, you may be required to make deliveries using our Electric Van.
  • Reviewing Processes: Working with the warehouse manager to review & update processes & standards within the warehouse.
  • Train, mentor & evaluate team members, assisting with the improvement of performance & productivity.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment is essential with some experience of leadership skills desirable.
  • Must be forklift qualified.
  • Willing to drive the delivery van.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
