We are looking for a Maintenance Electrical Engineer.
Salary: £38,238.82 per annum
Location: Wellington, Somerset
Shift: Rotating shifts
- Week 1: Monday - Thursday 06.00 - 14.00 Friday
- Week 2: Monday - Thursday Friday

JDR is recruiting for a Maintenance Electrical Engineer to work in a manufacturing site in Wellington, Somerset.
The Role
- Maintains machinery & equipment to an acceptable & safe standard to ensure that production targets and quality standards are continuously met.
- Responsible for the timely and acceptable installation of new machinery and equipment as required.
- Adopts a pro-active approach to machinery maintenance and repair to ensure continuous improvement of production efficiencies.
- Conducts acceptable and timely electrical maintenance and repair as appropriate.
- Conducts acceptable and timely ancillary mechanical maintenance and repair as appropriate.
- Conducts acceptable and timely Pre-Planned Maintenance (PPM) tasks as appropriate.
- Liaises with Maintenance Manager and Production, Despatch and Stores Teams to ensure awareness of anticipated downtime and reduced efficiencies.
- Completes relevant engineering & production paperwork as required.
- Ensures all machinery breakdowns are actioned and accurately recorded on the computerised maintenance software program.
- Communicates with other engineering team members to ensure a smooth handover at shift changes or to provide awareness of maintenance activity.
- Conducts work with due consideration to the health & safety of self and others.
- Supports the training of all new starters or apprentices to ensure they reach an acceptable standard within a set time frame.
Qualifications & Skills Required
As a Maintenance Electrical Engineer you will have the following skills and experience:
- City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Portable Appliance Testing
- Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering
- Previous manufacturing, production machinery and site plant experience
- Knowledge of dynamic risk assessment
