Location: St Helen's
Salary: £14.17 per hour + £30 weekly attendance bonus
Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 7:45am to 4:30pm, Friday 7:45am to 12:45pm
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
The Role:
We are currently recruiting for Welders to join a busy manufacturing and fabrication business based in St Helen's. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking for long-term work with the opportunity to secure a permanent position.
As a Welder, you will be working within a fabrication and assembly environment, carrying out jig welding duties while working in pairs to assemble and repair products to required standards. The role will involve inspecting non-mechanical system scaffolding, shoring, and groundwork equipment for defects, identifying repair requirements, and carrying out the necessary repair work.
Duties will include MIG welding, cutting and grinding materials, and straightening products manually or using hydraulic equipment. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and organised working environment and adhering to all health and safety procedures.
This is a hands-on role within an engineering and factory environment, requiring a proactive attitude and strong attention to quality and safety standards.
Experience / Skills Required:
- NVQ, coding qualification, or equivalent in Welding/Fabrication
- Previous experience within a fabrication or engineering environment
- Experience with MIG welding
- Ability to use hand and power tools confidently
- Experience carrying out cutting, grinding, and repair work
- Some knowledge of system scaffolding is advantageous
- FLT licence is beneficial but not essential
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
- Reliable with good timekeeping and a strong work ethic
- A minimum of 2 years of welding experience is required for this role
