JDR Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader or Supervisor to join a growing business in Skelmersdale on a permanent basis, working directly for our client.

This is an excellent opportunity for an existing Team Leader or Supervisor looking to develop their career, take on greater responsibility and progress within a growing organisation.

This is a hands‑on leadership position, with approximately 70% of the role being operational and 30% focused on team management. We’re looking for someone who enjoys being hands‑on, leads by example and is motivated by improving processes and efficiencies.

The Role

As Goods In Team Leader, you will support the smooth and efficient running of the Goods In and stock control operation, whilst leading and developing a team of warehouse operatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading by example and working hands‑on alongside the warehouse team
• Supervising and supporting a team of warehouse operatives
• Managing team performance and addressing performance issues
• Managing attendance and absence
• Organising team rotas and holiday planning
• Overseeing the receipt and put‑away of incoming goods
• Supporting stock control and regular stock counts
• Ensuring goods are received accurately and efficiently
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and warehouse processes
• Maintaining accurate stock records and reporting discrepancies
• Working with other departments to ensure the smooth flow of goods
• Supporting the implementation of new processes and systems
• Using warehouse management systems and barcode scanning technology
• Operating warehouse equipment, including PPT and Reach Trucks where required
• Maintaining a safe, organised and efficient working environment

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader or Supervisor who is ready to take the next step in their career or continue developing within a growing organisation.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Warehouse Team Leader or Supervisor position
• Experience managing or supporting a warehouse team
• Experience with performance and absence management
• Experience managing rotas and holidays
• Previous Goods In or Stock Control experience is desirable but not essential
• Experience carrying out stock counts
• Previous experience using a WMS
• PPT and Reach Truck experience is desirable
• A proactive approach to improving processes and efficiency
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• The ability to lead by example and motivate others
• A positive, can‑do attitude

Shift Pattern

The role operates on a rotating two‑week shift pattern:

Week 1: Monday to Thursday, 1:00pm to 9:30pm

Week 2: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, plus Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm

An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate and will be fully funded by the company.
