JDR Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Saw Operator / Machine Operator to join our client, a well-established manufacturing and engineering business based in Sutton-in-Ashfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous manufacturing, engineering or machine operating experience looking for a long-term career opportunity. Full training can be provided for candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

The Role

  • Operating Bowmar saw machinery to cut materials to required sizes
  • Measuring and preparing materials ready for cutting
  • Loading and unloading materials onto machines
  • Setting up saw equipment and adjusting settings where required
  • Reading basic measurements and following work instructions
  • Checking finished components meet required specifications
  • Using measuring equipment to ensure accuracy
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Supporting with general manufacturing and workshop duties as required

The Candidate

  • Previous experience within manufacturing, engineering or production (preferred)
  • Experience operating machinery would be beneficial but not essential
  • Good practical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work accurately with measurements
  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • A reliable attitude and good work ethic

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Friday: 7:00am - 3:30pm

39 hours per week

30-minute unpaid break each day
