We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join one of our key clients as a Buyer within their growing and successful procurement department. This role is key to ensuring the efficient procurement and availability of products across multiple distribution sites. You'll play a pivotal role in balancing stock availability with cost efficiency, supporting operational performance while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
The Role:
- Manage stock levels across a supplier portfolio to meet key inventory KPIs
- Optimise product availability while minimising excess and slow-moving stock
- Analyse stock trends and supplier lead times against demands
- Raise and manage purchase orders
- Build and maintain effective supplier relationships
- Source new products and obtain quotations
- Provide timely updates on stock availability and delivery schedules
- Support decision-making through accurate reporting and insights
- Support onboarding of new products and suppliers
The Candidate:
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Previous buying/procurement experience within an MRP environment - desirable
