JDR Recruitment are seeking an experienced Lead Design Engineer to lead the delivery of multi-disciplinary water and wastewater projects across the UK for our client based in Chilcompton, Somerset. You'll oversee designs from feasibility through to construction support and handover, ensuring safe, compliant and cost-effective solutions for our utility clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary design teams across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, process and ICA disciplines.
- Manage technical delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and approve calculations, drawings, specifications and design reports.
- Ensure compliance with UK standards, regulations and CDM 2015 requirements.
- Provide technical support during construction and contribute to bids and design reviews.
- Mentor and develop engineers and technicians.
- Build strong client relationships and represent the business at meetings and workshops.
About You
Essential:
- Degree qualified in an engineering discipline.
- Significant experience delivering water or wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams.
- Strong knowledge of UK design standards and CDM 2015.
Desirable:
- Chartered Engineer (or working towards chartership).
- Experience with BIM and design tools such as Revit, Civil 3D or AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and AMP programme delivery.
