JDR Recruitment are recruiting for a Production Operative with either Print Finishing or Die Cutting experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production & Machine Operation
- Set up and operate print finishing or die cutting machinery (e.g. platen die cutters, rotary die cutters, guillotines, folding/gluing machines).
- Ensure jobs are completed to required specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
- Monitor production runs and make adjustments as required.
- Load materials and ensure correct tooling (dies, plates, etc.) are used.
- Quality Control
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and job specifications.
- Identify defects and take corrective action promptly.
- Complete quality checks and paperwork accurately.
- Maintenance & Housekeeping
- Carry out basic machine maintenance and cleaning routines.
- Report faults, breakdowns, or maintenance issues to engineering.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment (5S standards).
- Health & Safety
- Follow all company health & safety procedures.
- Use PPE correctly at all times.
- Ensure safe handling of materials and machinery.
- Production Targets
- Work towards daily and weekly output targets.
- Minimise downtime, waste, and errors.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in a print finishing or die cutting environment.
- Experience operating relevant machinery (e.g. die cutting presses, finishing lines).
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to follow job specifications and technical instructions.
- Good understanding of workplace health & safety.
- Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Shifts: Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6-6, off on Sunday (if working then time X1.5) - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 6-6 and then off for 7 days - REPEAT - rotating days and nights. 36 hours a week on average.
Salary: £30,000 per annum - This will increase once you are trained on the machines. This is a permanent role.
