This role is working for a UK wide manufacturing and distribution company in one of their regional distribution sites. They are looking for a Transport Planner to join the team. The role reports directly to the Operations Manager. You will be working closely with the Transport Compliance Officer and will be responsible for taking control of the team of drivers (HGV). The role involves planning routes, dealing with drivers, vehicle compliance, as well as completing administration tasks and updating systems.

What you will be doing:
- Planning daily routes
- Liaising with drivers regarding deliveries
- Discussing issues regarding deliveries/product issues in relation to drivers
- Dealing with client issues and being the interface between drivers and customer services
- Checking and processing delivery paperwork and ensuring systems have been updated appropriately
- Inputting dates for invoice purposes
- Liaising with maintenance company regarding booking vehicles in for repairs
- Ensuring that vehicle issues are logged and systems updated
- Working closely with the compliance coordinator
- Dealing with drivers' queries/absence/arranging cover and record keeping with regards to staff in the department
- Liaising and updating the operations manager regularly
- Playing a key part in the team to deliver the best possible service
Skills and Knowledge:
- Transport planning experience
