This is a unique opportunity to work in a rewarding environment, helping to create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for visitors using our specialist sensory rooms. Please note that this is not a care role. All groups attending the centre are accompanied by their own carers or support staff, and the facilitator will not be responsible for providing direct care or support to service users.

  • Preparing and setting up the sensory room for scheduled sessions.
  • Ensuring facilities are clean, organised, and ready for use.
  • Managing bookings, calendars, and administrative records.

  • Completing general office administration duties.
  • Monitoring the smooth operation of the centre throughout the day.
  • Supporting users with sensory equipment as required following full training.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Friendly, professional, and approachable.
  • Well-organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Confident using technology, including:
    • iPads and tablets
    • Microsoft Office applications
    • Email and online booking systems
  • Able to manage a range of administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Flexible and willing to work a variety of shift patterns, including weekends.
  • Willing to learn and develop new skills within the role.

No previous experience with sensory equipment is required, as full training will be provided.

DBS Requirement

As part of our safer recruitment process, successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check with Child and Adult Barred List checks. Candidates who already hold a current, in-date Enhanced DBS certificate are encouraged to apply and will be viewed favourably; however, this is not essential, and applications are welcomed from candidates who do not currently hold a DBS certificate.

Working Hours

The centre operates 7 days a week, from 9:00am to 9:00pm. Successful candidates must be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts, including regular weekend working. Shifts are generally longer in length and, whilst 12-hour shifts are uncommon, they may occasionally be required to meet operational needs. We are happy to consider candidates seeking anything from 30 hours per week up to full-time employment, depending on availability and suitability.

Start Date

We are looking to appoint the successful candidate as soon as possible. Any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including the successful return of the required DBS clearance.
