Drivers Mates Required Newark, NG24 5 on, 3 off, 7am starts Immediate Start.

JDR Recruitment (Mansfield) are working in partnership with our leading home delivery client based in Newark, NG24 to recruit for a number of Drivers Mates / Customer Delivery Assistants to join their team. The induction for this role is taking place on Sunday 21st June 2026 at 9:30am and successful candidates will join the 5 on, 3 off rota straight afterwards.

Duties of the Role:

  • Delivering white goods such as American fridges, televisions, etc. to customer properties, working as part of a 2-man team.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 25kg at a time, ensuring strict adherence to manual handling and health and safety at all times.
  • Acting as the face of the business, ensuring excellent customer service and professionalism at all times.
  • Assisting the driver with navigation and contacting the customer via phone to advise of arrival times etc.

Shift Pattern: This role is working a fixed rota of 5 on, 3 off which will include weekends. Please do not apply if you can only commit to Monday to Friday as the shift pattern is fixed and cannot be amended.

Location: Newark, Nottinghamshire - NG24. Candidates with their own transport are preferred as public transport does not run on weekends in the area.

Shift Times: Shifts start at 7am and typically last between 8-10 hours, depending on routing, traffic, etc.

Rate of Pay: This role pays £12.81 per hour, paid weekly in arrears. Overtime is paid at time and a half for all hours worked after 45 hours per week, with regular overtime available.

Induction / Start Date: The induction for this wave of new starters will be carried out on Sunday 21st July at 9:30am, and we are looking for candidates who can start work straight away following this induction. Please only apply if you are able and willing to start work on rota immediately. The induction is paid, following completion of your first shift.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of the role, all candidates will be required to undertake a DBS check prior to starting work.
