JDR Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Laser Operator / Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our client, a well-established manufacturing and engineering business based in Sutton-in-Ashfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience within laser cutting, sheet metal or fabrication looking for a long-term role with the opportunity to secure permanent employment.
The Role
- Operating laser cutting machinery within a busy engineering environment
- Working with sheet metal and metal components
- Loading and unloading materials onto machinery
- Selecting programmes and adjusting machine settings where required
- Cutting materials to required specifications
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Measuring and checking finished components
- Carrying out quality inspections
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately and to a high standard
- General fabrication duties as required
The Candidate
- Previous experience operating laser cutting machinery
- Experience working with sheet metal or metal fabrication
- Ability to read engineering drawings (preferred)
- Knowledge of working with metal materials
- Experience using measuring equipment
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Previous experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Friday: 7:00am - 3:30pm
39 hours per week
30-minute unpaid break each day
Pay
£14.00 - £15.00 per hour depending on experience
