JDR Recruitment are recruiting for a Loading Shovel Driver for a recycling company based in Blackpool
Key Responsibilities
- Operate loading shovel machinery safely and efficiently.
- Load hoppers, conveyors, screening equipment, and processing plant with recyclable materials.
- Move, stockpile, segregate, and manage waste and recyclable materials across site.
- Load and unload vehicles in accordance with site procedures.
- Carry out daily pre-start inspections and routine machine checks.
- Complete defect reports and communicate maintenance requirements promptly.
- Ensure materials are processed in accordance with quality and environmental standards.
- Maintain safe traffic management practices on site.
- Assist with general site operations, housekeeping, and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Company policies.
- Support colleagues and assist in other operational duties as required.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience operating a loading shovel in a recycling, waste management, quarrying, construction, or similar environment.
- Valid Loading Shovel Operator Certificate (NPORS, CPCS, MPQC or equivalent).
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience within the recycling or waste management industry.
- Telehandler, forklift, or plant operator licences.
- Mechanical awareness and basic maintenance skills.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience working with material processing equipment.
