JDR Recruitment are recruiting for 2 Stock Controllers for a distribution site based in Speke, for a 5 month contract
Job Purpose
The Stock Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring stock integrity, and supporting operational efficiency through effective stock management practices. The role focuses on stock accuracy, cycle counting, and proactive management of materials according to Best Before date requirements to minimise waste and ensure continuous operational supply.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine cycle counts of inventory to maintain stock accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
- Ensure all stock variances are identified, analysed, and corrected in a timely manner.
- Manage and monitor BBE dates, ensuring correct stock rotation using FIFO/FEFO principles where applicable.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Monitor stock movements, including goods received, transfers, and stock issues.
- Work closely with Production, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams to ensure stock availability and avoid shortages.
- Support stock audits and assist with inventory reconciliation activities.
- Investigate root causes of stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure stock handling follows company procedures and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in inventory control, stock management, or warehouse operations.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles including cycle counting and stock reconciliation.
- Experience managing BBE/expiry-controlled stock.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Experience using ERP/WMS systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Experience within manufacturing, food, pharmaceutical, or FMCG environments.
- Understanding of FIFO/FEFO stock management practices.
Shifts
We are looking for:
1 X 6am-2pm Monday - Friday
1 X 2pm-10pm Monday - Friday
Please note - the hours for both roles will be 8am-4pm for the first 2 weeks for training
Pay Rate
Β£14 per hour
