JDR Recruitment are recruiting for a Caretaker / Cleaner to work at a school in Leigh, WN7.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning Duties
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors
- Clean and sanitise toilets, kitchens, and communal areas
- Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately
- Dust and clean surfaces, fixtures, and fittings
- Replenish consumables (toilet paper, soap, etc.)
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and correctly
- Caretaking Duties
- Open and lock buildings as required
- Carry out basic maintenance (e.g. changing light bulbs, minor repairs)
- Monitor building condition and report faults or hazards
- Ensure heating, lighting, and alarm systems are operating correctly
- Set up rooms for meetings or events (tables, chairs, equipment)
- Respond to emergency situations when necessary
- Health & Safety
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times
- Ensure safe storage and handling of cleaning materials
- Report hazards, accidents, or incidents promptly
- Maintain a safe environment for occupants and visitors
Key Skills & Experience
- Previous cleaning or caretaking / maintenance experience
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment
