Are you keen to start a career in legal and would like to work in a specialist legal practice with expertise in clinical negligence and medical claims. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join our friendly, close-knit team and support our qualified solicitors with a varied and rewarding caseload.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing administrative support to qualified solicitors throughout the lifecycle of clinical negligence and medical claims.
- Preparing and organising legal documents and correspondence.
- Managing client files and ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- Liaising with clients by telephone and in person, delivering a professional, compassionate and empathetic service.
- Scheduling appointments and assisting with diary management.
- Requesting, processing and maintaining medical records and other case documentation.
- Supporting the team with general office administration to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates empathy, patience and professionalism when dealing with clients, many of whom may have experienced difficult circumstances.
- Is organised, accurate and able to manage a varied workload.
- Has good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Works well both independently and as part of a small, supportive team.
- Has studied law or is keen to build a long-term career in the legal sector (desirable but not essential).
- If you are looking for further development and wish to pursue a career further the client is willing to look at further study support.
