We are recruiting for an electrically biased Engineer, however the ideal candidate will be multi-skilled with exposure to PLC's and automated equipment. This is a full-time permanent role working for a well-established client in the Leeds LS9 area. The successful candidate will work rotational weekly shifts Monday to Friday.

What you'll be doing:

  • Point of contact for all technical matters on shift across the whole factory
  • Drive improvements in performance of machinery
  • Engineering corrective actions to support the production line and production management
  • Adhering to health and safety and legislation at all times
  • Identify and implement plans to eliminate unnecessary losses such as cost, waste and inefficiencies
  • Carry out checks and inspection of plant, machinery, and equipment, maximise machine utilisation, decrease cycle times

What we're looking for:

  • Educated to a minimum NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering time served apprenticeship
  • 17th or 18th edition wiring regulations is desirable
  • Knowledge in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical comprehension
  • Have working knowledge of PLC fault-finding and repair, any programming skills would be of great interest
  • Experience of modern manufacturing techniques (5S, Lean and TPM would be ideal)

Hours of work:

  • Monday to Friday, 3 week rotational shifts
  • Week 1 - 6am-2pm
  • Week 2 - 2pm-10pm
  • Week 3 - 10pm-6am
