JDR Recruitment are recruiting for Counterbalance FLT Drivers / Production Operatives to work for a manufacturing company based in Wigan. Candidates must have a valid Counterbalance licence refreshed within the last 3 years.

Duties Include:

  • Operating Counterbalance forklift vehicles.
  • Working in a busy warehouse environment, loading and unloading HGVs and moving stacks of pallets.
  • Ensuring trucks and equipment are well maintained and reporting operational problems, including damage to the truck or other property.
  • Heavy lifting up to 25kg.
  • Operating mixing or filling machines.
  • Operating semi-automated machinery.
  • Working to daily production targets.

Candidates must be H&S conscious (happy to wear PPE and keep their work stations tidy at all times). The majority of the work will be on the Counterbalance Truck; however, candidates must be prepared to work in the production area as and when required.

The shift pattern will involve being flexible to work the below shifts:

  • 6am - 2pm Monday - Thursday & 6am - 12pm on Friday
  • 2pm - 10pm Monday - Thursday & 12pm - 6pm on Friday

38 hours paid per week.

The pay rates are:

  • Early Shift - £14.41 per hour
  • Afternoon Shift - £14.41 per hour plus £203 paid at the end of the month as a lump sum if you have worked the afternoon shift for the whole month - this would equate to £15.75 per hour

Overtime is payable using the following breakdown:

  • Time plus ⅓ of your normal hourly rate (as determined by the Company) for the first two hours of overtime worked Monday to Friday (inclusive) and time plus ½ thereafter.
  • Time plus ½ of your normal hourly rate (as determined by the Company) for the first six hours and double time thereafter for overtime worked on Saturdays.
  • Double time of your normal hourly rate (as determined by the Company) for overtime worked on Sundays.

Temporary to Permanent for the right candidate.
