JDR Recruitment Limited (Mansfield) are working in partnership with one of the UK's leading providers of temperature controlled supply chain solutions and we are now recruiting for Order Checkers / PPT Operators to join their Heywood depot. This is a fantastic opportunity offering temporary-to-permanent employment for the right candidates. Immediate starts are available with inductions weekly, with limited spaces, so early applications are strongly encouraged.
Main Duties and Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for verifying product quality, inspecting shipments, and ensuring accuracy in inventory management.
- You will also operate a PPT to transport goods within the warehouse or production area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment, including Powered Pump Trucks (PPTs), to assist with loading and unloading customer orders and general warehouse movement.
- Ensure that all goods are labelled correctly, and stored according to Company standards.
- Check and record materials transported to and from the site, reporting and recording any discrepancies or damages.
- Weigh or count items for distribution within the plant to determine and ensure they meet company standards.
- Entering data into Warehouse Management System, ensuring accuracy.
- Handballing items off lorries, with heavy lifting of up to max. 25kg.
- You will do this in a cold environment - approximately minus 25 Celsius - just like working in the freezer; but we provide full PPE and follow all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment, ideally having some experience of using and operating MHE such as PPTs or FLTs, though full refresher training will be provided.
- Someone with loading and unloading experience using material handling equipment such as power pallet truck.
- Someone who can comfortably carry out manual handling duties such as lifting and carrying up to 25kg without problems.
- IT literacy and preferably have some experience of using Warehouse Management Systems to accurately record data with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent English language skills are required for this role.
- Candidates with experience operating a PPT or other MHE equipment in a warehouse environment are preferred though training will be provided.
Please Note: These roles are working within a temperature controlled, chilled environment. Full PPE is provided.
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off, 7am-7pm (to include weekends as they fall on the rota)
Pay Rate: £13.46 per hour Overtime paid at time and a half
Location: The site is based in Heywood, OL10. Due to the shift times, candidates with their own transport to get to work (i.e. car, motorbike, etc) are preferred.
Induction and Start Date: Our Client is holding interviews on Friday 3rd July with successful candidates being offered immediate inductions and start dates.
