Production Deputy Line Leader in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire (NG17) at £15 per hour with a rotating shift pattern (6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm, Mon to Fri).
This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, offering a permanent contract after successful completion of training (based on performance, attendance, and conduct).
About the Role
This is a hands-on Production Line Leader position where you will ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient running of the production line. You will operate, set, and fault-find machinery, maintain high safety standards, and support overall production performance.
We are looking for candidates with previous machine operation experience – preferably including machine setting – who can quickly integrate with the team and make an immediate impact. You will work closely with the Production Supervisor and will be expected to take full responsibility for the line during periods of absence such as holidays or sickness.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Production Supervisor in day-to-day production operations
- Oversee production line activities to ensure a smooth workflow
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency
- Train, guide, and support production operatives
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately
- Set up pumps and prepare equipment for production runs
- Lead a team of three production staff when covering for the Supervisor
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure production targets are met
- Maintain housekeeping standards and adhere strictly to health and safety procedures
About You
- Previous line-leading or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience within a chemical or manufacturing environment is desirable
- Confident communicator and strong team player
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Flexible and able to work rotating early and late shifts
- Able to supervise others effectively
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements
- Experience working on production lines
- Able to work independently and follow paperwork accurately
- FLT experience is advantageous
