JDR Recruitment are recruiting for Production Operatives for a manufacturing company based in Darwen

Job Summary:

A process operator works on a production line manufacturing acrylic sheet material. During each shift, the operator collaborates closely with a small team to ensure the smooth production of acrylic sheets. There are seven key roles within the process, and you will receive full training across each of them to support efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Assembly Operation - This task requires moving around a conveyor table attaching gasket to all four sides of a rectangular glass plate.

Clamping Operation - This requires sliding several clamps to the slides of a glass cell.

Floating - When completing floating you will need close of the gasket openings to allow for the syrup to be poured between the two glasses. This operator is also responsible for changing the pipes from the filter floor.

Oven Area - Operators will start and monitor oven cycles, they will use an air transporter to load and unload cell frames. Once a cell frame has been removed from the oven they will remove all clamps.

Splitting - During the splitting operation, the operator uses a control station to move the glass through the production line. They insert a plastic wedge into the gap between two glass plates to separate them. Additionally, the operator is responsible for safely removing any broken glass or acrylic that may occur.

Inspection - Each acrylic sheet is manually inspected, following sheet inspection masking is mechanically applied to the sheet.

Syrup - An operator on the syrup floor is responsible for measuring, inputting and mixing chemicals according to the specific type of sheet being produced. They must carefully manage the timing of these tasks to ensure the mixture remains synchronised with the production line.

Shifts:

12 hour shifts with 3 X 30 minutes paid breaks per shift

7 days shifts and 7 night shifts worked per month

An example shift pattern is: 4 days on, 7 days off, 4 nights on, 3 nights off, 3 days on, 1 day off, 3 nights on 3 nights off

Β£13.85 per hour for all hours worked

Once you are permanent there is an overtime rate in place
