About the Role
We are currently recruiting Sewing Machinists on behalf of a well-established manufacturer of high-quality sofas and upholstered furniture. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced machinists, particularly upholstery sewing machinists, or those with strong transferable sewing skills looking for long-term, stable work with a company that genuinely invests in its people.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating industrial sewing machines to produce upholstery components
- Sewing a variety of fabrics and materials to specification and quality standards
- Working from patterns and instructions
- Ensuring consistency, accuracy, and high attention to detail
- Working as part of a skilled production team to meet daily targets
Training & Support
- 1-to-1 training provided
- Ongoing support from an experienced team of sewing machinists
- Clear development pathway with the opportunity to become permanent
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a sewing machinist (industrial or domestic considered)
- Upholstery sewing machinist experience preferred
- Ideally experienced using flat-bed sewing machines
- Experience working with various fabrics and materials
- Upholstery, furniture, automotive, or textile background desirable
- Good hand-eye coordination and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work to deadlines in a production environment
- Reliable, hardworking, and team-focused attitude
