Location: Barton-upon-Humber (with travel to manufacturing sites)
Hours of Work: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

We are currently recruiting for an Automation Engineer to join a growing engineering and projects team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of automated manufacturing solutions across multiple production facilities.
As an Automation Engineer, you will support a variety of capital projects, including robotics, cobots, new production lines, factory expansions, and automation improvement initiatives. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting automation and electrical control systems that enhance manufacturing efficiency and reliability.
The role will involve programming and optimising PLCs, HMIs, drives, and industrial networks, as well as supporting the integration of robotic and automated systems. You will assist with project delivery from initial concept through to commissioning, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
You will also be responsible for producing and reviewing electrical drawings and technical documentation, troubleshooting automation and electrical issues, and ensuring systems comply with machinery safety and electrical standards. Working closely with engineering and production teams, you will contribute to continuous improvement activities across the manufacturing operation.
- HNC, HND, or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
- Previous experience within an automation, controls, or manufacturing engineering environment
- Experience programming PLCs such as Siemens, Schneider, Allen-Bradley, or similar
- Good understanding of automation systems, industrial controls, and control architecture
- Ability to read, interpret, and produce electrical drawings
- Experience supporting automation or engineering projects from concept through to completion
- Experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment is desirable
