About the Role
JDR Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Workshop Labourer to join their busy engineering workshop in Abertillery. This is a manual, hands-on role supporting the engineering team with general workshop duties, assisting with materials and keeping the workshop clean, tidy and organised. The successful candidate will also be required to use the company van when necessary, therefore a full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting engineers and workshop staff with day-to-day tasks
- Carrying out general manual labouring duties within the workshop
- Loading, unloading and moving materials and equipment
- Assisting with the preparation of materials and components
- Keeping the workshop, yard and work areas clean and organised
- Assisting with general workshop maintenance and housekeeping
- Using the company van when required for work-related purposes
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
- Supporting the wider workshop team as required
About You
The successful candidate will be:
- A full UK driving licence holder - essential
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Comfortable carrying out manual work
- Practical and hands-on
- Comfortable working in a busy engineering workshop
- Able to follow instructions
- A good team player with a positive attitude
- Willing to learn new skills
Previous experience in an engineering, manufacturing, construction or workshop environment would be an advantage, but is not essential as training will be provided.
