JDR are currently recruiting for an Assistant Growing Manager to join our produce client in the Holbeach area. This is a fantastic opportunity and we are open to speaking with candidates from a variety of backgrounds, e.g., farming, flowers, chemicals, etc. This client offers great opportunities for internal development within the organisation.
This is a full-time on-site role in the Holbeach area; successful candidates must be able to commute to the office daily.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support and assist with the effective growing and harvesting of crops
- Maintaining standards of quality, hygiene and safety
- Ensure times are met and product is produced to specification and in time for the customer needs
- Retain and develop your team including a mixture of internal and agency staff
- Monitor and control the general housekeeping of the forcing rooms and greenhouse, ensuring corrective action is taken when needed
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience of working in a similar role; ideal backgrounds would be farming, flowers, fresh produce
- An awareness of product defects that can affect the quality and harvest of crops
- National diploma in Agriculture or equivalent
- Strong knowledge and understanding of pesticides
- Comprehensive computer and IT skills
- Strong communication skills and people management experience
This is a full-time role working 45 hours per week; successful candidates must be flexible to work various hours Monday to Friday.
