JDR is recruiting on behalf of a well-established electronics manufacturing client based in Newport.
The Role: As a Test Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting production test equipment for functional testing and contributing to new product introductions (NPI). This is an excellent opportunity to apply and further develop your electronics hardware expertise and PCB/HLA test engineering experience while supporting the delivery of high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain production test equipment for functional testing
- Contribute to new product introductions (NPI), ensuring smooth transition from development to production and alignment with customer specifications
- Generate, update, and maintain clear and accurate test instructions
- Provide training and guidance to Test Technicians, ensuring best practices are followed
- Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and implement required updates to test processes and equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve electronic hardware test issues
- Work with electronic test equipment (hardware and software) to ensure quality and compliance standards are met
About You:
- Strong understanding of electronics with hands-on experience in hardware testing
- Proven experience testing PCB and High-Level Assembly (HLA) components
- Knowledge of both hardware and software used in electronic testing
- Experience with LabVIEW and TestStand is highly desirable
- Minimum of an HNC in Electronic or Electrical Engineering, or at least 5 years' experience in electronics test engineering
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams, train technicians, and produce clear technical documentation
- Strong motivation to develop both technically and professionally
