Maintenance Engineer in Widnes

Widnes Full-Time No home office possible

JDR is seeking a talented Maintenance Engineer to join one of our clients, based in Widnes

This permanent role offers a salary range of £30,000 to £34,000 per annum, depending on your experience.

Hours of work:
Monday – Thursday 8.15am – 4.45 with a 3.30pm finish on a Friday.

Purpose of the role:

Maintain and repair critical machinery and equipment to maximize uptime and productivity
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and implement best practices
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with ISO standards and legal requirements
Troubleshoot, fault-find, and repair CNC machines, such as Mazak, Hardinge, and DMG
Perform electrical installations, including motors, drives, and control panels, in line with BS 7671 – 18th Edition
Maintain and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems, as well as extraction equipment
Carry out facilities upkeep, including HVAC, lighting, and plumbing
Collaborate with departments to minimize machine and equipment downtime

Preferred Qualifications:

Recognized apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 / HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance
Proven experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment
Current 18th Edition BS 7671 certification (City & Guilds 2382 or equivalent)
Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 frameworks is a huge bonus
