We are currently seeking a Time-Served Manual / Semi-CNC Turner to join our client's engineering team in Cwmbran. This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term stability, excellent benefits, and the chance to work within an ISO9001-accredited environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will be involved in machining one-offs to small batches of components weighing up to 3 tonnes.
Responsibilities include:
- Operating manual lathes and semi-CNC lathes
- Using a manual centre lathe and tooling to machine components to drawing specifications
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards
- Complete tool setting, including understanding cutting speeds and feeds
- Using measurement and inspection equipment (verniers, micrometres, bore gauges, etc.)
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment in line with ISO9001 standards
Experience in milling or welding is highly desirable.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is time served with proven experience on manual and/or semi-CNC lathes
- Ideally has milling and/or welding experience
- Has strong attention to detail and can work to tight tolerances
- Is competent in tool setting, with knowledge of cutting speeds and feeds
- Can confidently use measurement and inspection tools
- Has around 3 years' engineering experience (preferred)
- Is highly motivated, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team
