We're looking for a reliable and experienced HGV class 2 Skip Driver to join our clients waste management and recycling team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery, exchange, and collection of skips from commercial and domestic customer sites. You'll be the face of our company on the road, ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with all transport and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate skip lorries (typically 7.5T, 18T, or 26T vehicles) to deliver, collect, and exchange skips at customer sites.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects in line with company policy.
- Ensure skips are correctly positioned and secured according to site and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and waste transfer notes.
- Communicate effectively with the transport office and customers to coordinate schedules and resolve any site issues.
- Comply with all road transport, tachograph, and working time regulations.
- Follow company health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
- Keep vehicles clean and presentable.
Requirements:
- Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
- Valid CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous experience operating skip lorries or within the waste management sector preferred.
- Good knowledge of local routes and road safety regulations.
