This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation operating within the recycling sector, where you'll be responsible for maintaining the reliability and performance of a wide range of heavy industrial plant and equipment.

Working as part of the Engineering team, you'll take ownership of electrical maintenance across site, ensuring maximum uptime through planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive breakdown repairs and continuous improvement projects.

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, your duties will include:

  • Managing preventative maintenance schedules using the CMMS system
  • Issuing and controlling Permits to Work
  • Managing and supervising external contractors
  • Completing electrical inspections and testing
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records
  • Ensuring all work complies with health and safety legislation and company procedures

You'll be working on a variety of heavy industrial equipment including shredders, balers, shears, conveyor systems, cranes, wheel loaders, bulldozers and other processing machinery.

We're looking for candidates who hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering together with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Candidates holding the 16th or 17th Edition will also be considered, with full support provided by the company to upgrade to the 18th Edition.

You'll have strong Siemens S7 PLC programming and fault-finding experience, previous electrical maintenance experience within a heavy industrial, manufacturing or processing environment, excellent diagnostic skills, a solid understanding of planned preventative maintenance systems and the ability to work independently using your own initiative.

Experience with Counterbalance FLTs, IPAF, IOSH, Cherry Pickers, Scissor Lifts, working at height, confined spaces and previous experience within recycling, scrap, steel, quarrying, aggregates or similar heavy industrial sectors would all be advantageous. A good mechanical understanding is also beneficial, although this role is focused solely on electrical maintenance.

We're looking for someone who is hardworking, dependable and diligent, with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving. You'll have a strong commitment to health and safety, be comfortable working within a busy heavy industrial environment and take pride in maintaining high engineering standards.
