JDR Recruitment are seeking a tendering and proposals engineer specialist to support the delivery of high-quality bids and proposals across a range of projects for one of our key Stockport based clients. This will be a key commercial and technical role, responsible for turning early-stage opportunities into profitable, deliverable projects through accurate costing, technical evaluation, and client engagement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare tenders, quotations, and technical proposals
- Interpreting engineering specifications and commercial requirements
- Completing accurate cost estimates and pricing models
- Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of project viability
- Carry out site visits when required
- Liaise with internal teams (engineering, production, service) to ensure optimal solutions
- Manage client communication throughout the tender process
- Prepare and submit formal bid documentation
- Participate in clarification processes and respond to client queries
- Support project handover to delivery teams following successful bids
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, CDM, and health and safety regulations
- Monitor tender progress and contribute to continuous improvement of processes
Skills / Qualifications:
- Degree or HNC / HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Experience in engineering tenders, proposals, or cost estimation
- Knowledge and understanding of power generation systems
- Experience in energy project design, development, or technical management
- Understanding of CDM, health safety, and industry regulations
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Full UK driving licence
