The Opportunity
Our client is looking for a driven and enthusiastic Commercial Vehicle Sales Executive to join their growing team, covering South Wales. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious sales professional who is passionate about building customer relationships, developing new business, and representing a leading commercial vehicle franchise. You will be responsible for generating new business throughout South Wales while managing and developing existing customer accounts. You'll become the product expert for the commercial vehicle range, delivering exceptional customer service from initial enquiry through to vehicle handover and beyond. Reporting directly to the Van Sales Manager, you'll play a key role in achieving sales targets and supporting the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across South Wales.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers and national fleet accounts.
- Achieve manufacturer and dealership sales targets, including volume and profitability objectives.
- Deliver professional sales presentations, product demonstrations and test drives.
- Provide expert advice on the commercial vehicle range, accessories, finance, leasing and aftersales services.
- Negotiate and conclude vehicle sales, ensuring all documentation and contracts are completed accurately.
- Manage the sales process from enquiry through to vehicle delivery.
- Monitor customer orders and ensure vehicles are delivered on time and to the highest standard.
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity using the dealership management system (Dealerweb).
- Create engaging vehicle content and product demonstrations for the company website and social media platforms.
- Represent the dealership at exhibitions, ride-and-drive events and promotional activities.
- Work closely with internal departments and external finance, leasing and insurance partners to deliver a seamless customer experience.
- Carry out regular customer follow-up activity to generate repeat business and referrals.
- Ensure the commercial vehicle display is maintained in line with manufacturer standards.
- Act as the commercial vehicle product specialist within the dealership.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience in business development, automotive sales or commercial vehicle sales.
- Is a confident communicator with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Is self-motivated, target-driven and capable of working independently.
- Is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
- Is organised, proactive and able to manage multiple sales opportunities.
- Is confident using CRM and dealership management systems.
- Is comfortable creating engaging content for social media and digital marketing.
- Holds a full UK driving licence.
- Experience within the automotive or commercial vehicle sector is desirable, although candidates with a strong business-to-business sales background will also be considered.
