JDR is delighted to be working with a well-established engineering client in Montrose who is looking to add a Stores & Facilities Assistant to their team. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys a mix of stores work, general maintenance, and supporting the day-to-day running of a busy site.
The Role
You'll play a key part in keeping the site running smoothly, taking responsibility for the stores area while also supporting general upkeep across the facility. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Managing the stores area and keeping stock levels under control, flagging when items need to be reordered
- Booking in deliveries and keeping inventory records up to date
- Maintaining tidy, organised workshop areas, including regular bin emptying
- Assisting with general upkeep of the site such as grass cutting, strimming, and weed control
- Supporting with seasonal tasks such as gritting and snow clearing during winter months
- Carrying out basic maintenance tasks around the facility
- Completing daily checks on company vehicles
- Helping with painting, pressure washing, and general labouring as required
- Supporting with occasional driving duties when needed
What We're Looking For
- A practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to get involved wherever needed
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Basic IT skills, particularly Microsoft packages (training can be provided)
- A reliable and proactive attitude
