Shift Pattern: 39 hours per week. Mornings, afternoons, and nights currently; however, expectation is to be flexible and be willing to work overtime.
Salary: £38,736.51 inclusive of shift allowance.
We are seeking an experienced CNC machinist to join our team to work on a variety of CNC machines including Mazak twin spindle lathes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all procedures and manufacturing processes are followed correctly. It is the CNC machinist’s role to set, operate and measure all components being produced to the desired tolerance and surface finish required as per drawing.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all safe working practices.
- Manufacture precision components with the complete ability of reading and understanding engineering drawings, tolerances/surface finish etc.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Machine components in line with the M.I.S (Machining Instruction Sheet).
- Ensure “first off” checks are carried out on every operation to establish a standardised “right first time” culture, all scrap to be recorded immediately recording findings and signing appropriate paperwork.
- Ensure to sign all relevant paperwork & scan “on & off” when starting & finishing jobs.
- Must show flexibility in both shift pattern working and prepared to work overtime as and when required by the management team.
Requirements:
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Previous CNC machining experience.
- Capable of reading engineering diagrams and working to tight tolerances.
- Setting and operating CNC Mazak lathes with Mazatrol control systems.
- Experience operating CNC cylindrical grinders and EDM wires (training can be provided).
- Capable of producing a range of high-quality components.
- IT and communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Good Health and Safety principles.
The role requires an individual who is prepared to take ownership and be accountable for the manufacturing process. A flexible can-do attitude is essential in this demanding role.
