Overview

Job Title: Compliance Manager

Location: Wellington, Somerset

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am-4:30pm Friday's - 8am-1pm

Job Purpose

Responsible for the maintenance, promotion and evolution of the Quality Accreditation system (IATF 16949 & ISO9001). Ensuring specification and regulatory compliance of both raw materials and finished goods. Be a core member of the plant quality team.

Job Holder Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining, updating and improving the Quality accreditation systems (IATF 16949 & ISO9001) and providing key stakeholder contribution to ISO14001 accreditation.
  • To be a senior point of contact for customer related quality concerns or queries
  • Responsible for laboratory oversight including recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Responsible for ensuring REACH, IMDS, RoHS and GADSL product compliance
  • Responsible for identifying and promoting the training and development of all departmental personnel ensuring that their skill mix complements the business needs
  • Responsible for co-ordinating the internal audit roster
  • Required to support the manufacturing operation as a core member of the product quality team
  • Proactively identifies areas of weakness within the business, in relation to quality, and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Technical responsible person for CCAP Mark Certification

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required

  • It is required that the candidate will have had substantial experience in a quality function (preferably > 10 years).
  • IATF, ISO9001 and VDA 6.3 training, certification and experience is required.
  • From a manufacturing business, and it is preferred that some automotive industry experience is evident.
  • The successful candidate needs to have good working numeracy, general IT competence, and experience in compiling and giving summary presentations.

Communications and Working Relationships

Internal Work with Management team to effect improvements to the quality system where needed. Host a monthly quality review for a wider business audience including operations. Support the laboratory team, when required, in making business justifications for improvements and investments. Support the quality administrator function as needed.

External : Be the 2nd line of response for customer reported quality concerns. Be a lead member of the audit team to support external audits (conducted by customers or accreditation bodies). Be the 1st line of response for all customer QMS queries.

Dimensions and Decision Making

5 direct reports (Quality Engineer, Acoustic Engineer, Sustainability Coordinator and Laboratory Technicians)

Job holder authorised to incur costs (to a set level) to effect immediate remedial containment of a quality concern at a customer.

Job holder will also be expected to manage outsourced laboratory testing budgets and compile justifications for investment in new test equipment where a business need, or cost saving, is evident.
