We are currently recruiting for a Sheet Metal Worker to join a busy manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role responsible for the processing and assembly of customer orders, ensuring every product is manufactured to the highest quality standards and exact customer specifications.

As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be responsible for checking materials against production and works orders, using a variety of metalworking machinery and welding equipment to manufacture and assemble products. You will carry out thorough quality checks on your own work before handing completed jobs over for final inspection and undertake any remedial work required.

Duties will include:

  • Using general metalworking equipment
  • Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
  • Ensuring the correct PPE is worn
  • Adhering to all health and safety procedures
  • Working closely with colleagues as part of a small team
  • Supporting others where required
  • Bringing any quality or safety concerns to the attention of the Team Leader

Experience / Skills Required:

  • City & Guilds Level 3 in Fabrication/Welding or NVQ equivalent is essential
  • Previous experience within sheet metal work, including light to medium fabrication
  • TIG welding experience is preferred but not essential
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of general metalworking machinery such as hydraulic metalworkers, MAG drilling equipment, and pillar drills
  • Experience using manual propane cutting equipment is advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality standards
  • Experience working to deadlines and under minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong awareness of health and safety procedures
  • Reliable with excellent timekeeping and attendance
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within a sheet metal role
