We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Skilled Food Production Operative to take ownership of production line performance within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a vital part in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. You’ll be responsible for the smooth and effective running of the line, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining strict hygiene and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare your area for production at the start of each shift, completing all prestart checks and ensuring readiness to meet standard run rates.
- Monitor line performance and quickly escalate any issues to the Team Leader to minimise downtime.
- Assess incoming raw materials to maximise yield and report any concerns promptly.
- Maintain high product quality standards, rejecting unsuitable products while minimising waste.
- Accurately record all product and packaging movements.
- Ensure equipment and work areas meet company hygiene standards, following “Clean As You Go” practices at all times.
- Complete all required documentation accurately, including corrective actions and ongoing issues.
- Support the Team Leader with additional duties and step into leadership responsibilities when required.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 1 year’s experience in food manufacturing (ready meals experience preferred).
- Understanding of retailer requirements and BRC compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Knowledge of Food Safety, Hygiene, and Health & Safety standards.
- Ability to use initiative and solve problems quickly.
- Confidence to lead by example and support team performance.
- Good understanding of manual handling practices.
