JDR Recruitment are recruiting for Production Operatives in Skelmersdale on a temporary to permanent basis. Candidates must be able to travel to Irlam, Manchester, M44 for a short term basis before moving to Skelmersdale in September.

Duties include:

  • Operating Machinery and Production Equipment: Setting up, loading and operating machinery used to cut, form, press, or assemble industrial trays. Monitoring machine performance and adjusting settings to maintain quality and efficiency. Cleaning and maintaining production machinery and handheld tools.
  • Handling Raw Materials: Feeding raw materials (metal sheets, plastics, coatings, etc.) into production machines. Transporting materials within the factory, sometimes using lifting equipment or forklifts.
  • Quality Control and Inspection: Inspecting trays during and after production to identify defects, deformities or surface flaws. Removing defective products from the line and documenting issues. Conducting basic quality checks and tests to ensure the trays meet specifications.
  • Assembly and Finishing Tasks: Assembling multi‑part trays or attaching components (e.g., handles, reinforcements) where required. Performing finishing tasks such as trimming, smoothing edges, cleaning, or coating products.
  • Packaging and Preparation for Shipment: Packing completed trays, labelling them correctly, and preparing them for transport. Storing finished goods safely in the warehouse area.

Candidates must have previous experience in a production environment. Monday - Friday 2:30pm-11pm - Fixed shift. The starting pay rate will be £12.71 per hour rising to £13.94 after 12 weeks.
