Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–5:00 pm. Overtime available (Saturday time and half).
This is a hands‑on mechanical role within a busy recycling environment. The setting can be dirty, dusty, and physically demanding; candidates must be comfortable working in this type of industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance, servicing, and repair of recycling plant machinery.
- Fault finding, diagnostics, and mechanical problem solving.
- Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM).
- Working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Maintenance of conveyor systems, gearboxes, bearings, and drives.
- Responding to breakdowns and minimising downtime.
- Ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter / Plant Fitter / Maintenance Fitter.
- Experience within a recycling, waste, quarrying, aggregates, or similar heavy industrial environment (highly desirable).
- Strong transferable experience from other industrial sectors will be considered.
- Good working knowledge of conveyor belts.
