Our highly successful client in Preston is a global manufacturer and supplier of specialist technical equipment, supplying to over 40 countries worldwide. The UK division provides a full service to clients both in the UK and throughout Europe and beyond. A new position has arisen to expand their sales team, and we are looking for an International Business Development Manager (UK & Europe).

Are you looking for a great opportunity in an established client where you will have the chance to grow the client portfolio as well as manage existing accounts? This role will also utilise your European language skills along with your International BDM experience.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Developing new business and managing existing accounts to increase business
  • Market price research
  • Setting sales strategies and building strong relationships within the territory
  • Setting marketing strategies within the territory
  • Establishing budgets and targets on a yearly basis
  • Market research for new market potential
  • Organising marketing within the territory
  • Customer communication
  • Frequent customer visits in the territory (10-12 trips per year)
  • Attendance at international exhibitions (minimum 3 per year)
  • Sales figures analysis
  • Managing agents/distributors
  • Business Development (80%)
Skills & Experience:
  • International Business Development Experience essential (ideally 5 years)
  • At least one European Language – Spanish, French, Italian, Polish or another, both written and verbal
  • Excellent use of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Export Sales Experience (working knowledge of Incoterms)
  • Self-motivated
  • Able to work within the office environment – Preston alongside the other Sales Development Team members and Technical Support Team
  • Good Microsoft Office skills
  • Technically minded or an interest or background in Engineering would be advantageous
  • Strong team player

Hours of work: 8.30am – 5.00pm (flexibility required). This role is mainly office-based, and therefore the candidate must be within commutable distance to the Preston, Lancashire office.
