Pay: From £39k to £44k with OT.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–5:00 pm. Overtime available (Saturday time and half).

This is a hands-on mechanical role within a busy recycling environment. The setting can be dirty, dusty, and physically demanding; candidates must be comfortable working in this type of industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance, servicing, and repair of recycling plant machinery.
  • Fault finding, diagnostics, and mechanical problem solving.
  • Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM).
  • Working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintenance of conveyor systems, gearboxes, bearings, and drives.
  • Responding to breakdowns and minimising downtime.
  • Ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter / Plant Fitter / Maintenance Fitter.
  • Experience within a recycling, waste, quarrying, aggregates, or similar heavy industrial environment (highly desirable).
  • Strong transferable experience from other industrial sectors will be considered.
  • Good working knowledge of conveyor belts & rollers, gearboxes & mechanical drives.
  • Experience with PPM schedules and reactive maintenance.
  • Practical, hands-on approach.
  • Reliable and safety-conscious.
  • Welding or fabrication experience is advantageous but not essential.
