JDR Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Senior Technical Design Lead within a manufacturing environment.
As Senior Technical Design Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the performance and development of the technical department. You will lead the local technical team, ensuring projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on schedule to support both commercial and manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical capability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a busy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support the technical team to ensure departmental KPIs are achieved.
- Drive the timely production of front-end commercial drawings and accurate manufacturing drawings for production.
- Produce and develop manufacturing drawings for a range of projects within a busy manufacturing environment.
- Prepare project-specific design details and technical documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and specification advice across the business.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of Revit capabilities and technical drawing standards.
- Attend and contribute to technical team meetings and Revit workshops.
- Support production teams both in the office and on the manufacturing floor.
- Assist the Sales team by producing quote proposal drawings and providing technical advice to clients.
- Produce regular technical bulletins and updates to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders on project-based development activities.
- Experience working within a drawing office or architectural office producing high-quality technical drawings.
- Strong CAD and Revit skills, with proven experience using Revit in a professional environment.
- Good understanding of building regulations and general construction practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage projects from initial brief through to completion.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and support team performance within a busy environment.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
Salary up to £60,000 (depending on experience) 25 days annual leave plus.
