JDR are recruiting for multiple permanent positions with one of Leigh’s largest and most reputable food manufacturing companies. We are currently hiring for a range of skilled production, hygiene, and kitchen roles across different departments. Successful candidates will play a key part in ensuring the safe, hygienic, and efficient production of high-quality food products while maintaining excellent manufacturing standards.

- Preparation Operator (Rotating) – Monday to Friday 6:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 £29,251.83
- Technician Cookhouse (Rotating) – Monday to Friday 6:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 £33,498.76
- Multi-skilled Operative (Days) – Continental Shift 06:00–18:00 £27,742.66
- Multi-skilled Operative (Rotating) – Monday to Friday 6:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 £27,742.40
Key Responsibilities
- Operating and monitoring production or packing machinery
- Processing and preparing finished goods ready for dispatch
- Maintaining high food safety, hygiene, and quality standards
- Following health & safety procedures and good manufacturing practices (GMP)
- Cleaning and sanitising production equipment and factory areas
- Conducting basic checks, reporting faults, and escalating issues where necessary
- Supporting investigations into production or quality issues
- Managing waste, yard areas, and site hygiene where applicable
- Assisting with food preparation and kitchen duties in catering roles
- Working collaboratively with team leaders and colleagues to ensure efficient operations
What We’re Looking For in a Candidate
- Previous food production, manufacturing, hygiene, or kitchen experience – minimum 1 year in any of the listed roles (preferred but not essential for all roles)
- A strong understanding of health & safety and food hygiene standards
- The ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Flexibility to work shift patterns depending on the role
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
