We are currently looking for a Labourer/General Operative for our client based in Peterlee.

Job Type: Full time Monday to Friday 0715-1600, this role is starting as temporary with a view to transferring permanent.

Pay: Weekly £14.00-£15.00ph based on experience, plus overtime.

Candidates must have Forklift Counterbalance license.

About the role:

We are looking to recruit a reliable Labourer/general operative to support with the day to day operations by maintaining high housekeeping, safety and site standards across the workshop and yard. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with a strong work ethic who takes pride in keeping a manufacturing environment clean, organised and running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating forklift truck counterbalance
  • Carry out general site maintenance as requested by management, including basic plumbing tasks
  • Empty wheelie bins around the shopfloor
  • Assist with product packing and preparation for dispatch
  • Undertake delivery and collection duties
  • Carry out painting and general upkeep of the facility, including offices, floors and walkways

Skills and Experience:

  • Fork lift truck license required
  • Full driving license
  • Good understanding of health and safety and housekeeping standards
  • Practical, hands‑on approach with a flexible attitude to work
  • Basic maintenance skills desirable
  • Previous experience in a maintenance or labouring role
