Pay: £16.85 Basic and £25.27 Overtime (time and half available Saturday when required)
Hours: Monday – Friday, Days (6:00am – 4:00pm). Overtime available.
We are currently recruiting for a Recycling Plant Fitter to join an established recycling and materials processing operation based in the Carmarthenshire area. This is a hands-on mechanical role within a busy recycling environment. The setting can be dirty, dusty, and physically demanding, so candidates must be comfortable working in this type of industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance, servicing, and repair of recycling plant machinery
- Fault finding, diagnostics, and mechanical problem solving
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Maintenance of conveyor systems, gearboxes, bearings, and drives
- Responding to breakdowns and minimising downtime
- Ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter / Plant Fitter / Maintenance Fitter
- Experience within a recycling, waste, quarrying, aggregates, or similar heavy industrial environment is highly desirable
- Strong transferable experience from other industrial sectors will be considered
- Good working knowledge of conveyor belts & rollers, gearboxes & mechanical drives, and PPM schedules and reactive maintenance
- Practical, hands-on approach
- Reliable and safety-conscious
- Welding or fabrication experience is advantageous but not essential
